The Catholic day, kept precisely.
Blissful Catholic knows what day it is in the Church: the celebration, the readings, the season and its colour. It puts them on your phone each morning, with a short reflection on the Gospel and the prayers of the day.
Coming to the App StoreFree to use. iPhone, iOS 26.5 or later.
What is in it
- The calendar, exactly
- Solemnities, feasts, memorials and ferias for the United States, kept current with the General Roman Calendar: the saints added since 2019 are there, and Blessed Junípero Serra is a Saint.
- The readings and a reflection
- The lectionary citations for the day, the texts from the World English Bible Catholic Edition, and a short reflection each morning.
- Prayer
- The Rosary with the day's mysteries, an examination of conscience, and a place to keep your intentions.
- The Catechism, at its source
- Every reference to the Catechism opens the paragraph on the Vatican's own site, so you read what it says rather than a summary of it.
- A companion that knows its limits
- Ask a question of the faith and get an answer grounded in the Catechism, with the paragraphs cited. It is built on Claude, an AI model, and it will tell you when a question is one for your priest.
- Private by design
- Your journal, your intentions and anything you prepare for confession stay on your phone. They are never uploaded.

The Council of Ephesus (431)
The third ecumenical council. Two rival councils in one city, a patriarch deposed in a day, and the decision that Mary may be called Mother of God because her son is one person.
The First Council of Constantinople (381)
The second ecumenical council. A gathering of Eastern bishops, unrecognised at first in the West, that confessed the Holy Spirit and adopted the creed Catholics now say every Sunday.
The First Council of Nicaea (325)
The first of the seven ecumenical councils. Called by an emperor to settle whether the Son is God, it gave us the word “consubstantial” and a creed that did not end the argument.
