Λόγος
Logos
LOH-goss
“The Word” — St John's name for the eternal Son of God, through whom all things were made and who became flesh in Jesus.
word; reason; account
John's Gospel opens: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Logos meant both the spoken word and the reason behind things, and John uses it for the Son who eternally expresses the Father and through whom the world was made. The Catechism says that in Jesus, the Word made flesh, God has said everything: there is no other word to give. To call Christ the Logos is to confess that all things were made through him and that he has become flesh for our salvation.
