Incarnation
The Son of God taking on a full human nature — body and soul — in the womb of the Virgin Mary, so that Jesus Christ is true God and true man.
an enfleshing
“The Word became flesh.” The Church calls this the Incarnation: the eternal Son of God, without ceasing to be God, assumed a complete human nature and was born of Mary. He did not merely appear human or dwell in a man; he became man. The Catechism says belief in the true Incarnation is the distinctive sign of Christian faith, and that Christ has a true human body, a true human soul, a human intellect and a human will, all united to his divinity in one Person.
